He was born in Oklahoma to Otis and Evie White on November 12, 1933. Bob and his family moved to California when he was five year old and settled in the Le Grande area where he attended elementary and high school. Bob's industrious nature dates back to childhood when he worked in a fig orchard to save money for his first Schwin bicycle. He began his accomplished career as a Carpenter-Specialist at age 18 and continued in the trade until he retired early due to Leukemia. A Carpenter of 52 years, Bob was a member of the Carpenter's Local 701. Bob's generosity began as a child when he often gave his entire paycheck to his mother. His generous character was exemplified when he nearly payed $100 for a cake at a church auction so that the youth group could attend camp. Bob has been a member of various churches and his current membership rests at Sierra Heights Baptist. Whether his home church or a neighboring church, Bob found places to build, re-model, and repair using his God given talents whenever possible. Bob is survived by his wife Wanda, of 34 years, the love and joy of his life; their seven children, Randy, Belinda "Bunny", Faylin, Kathleen, Carolyn, Nancy, and Denise; his daughter-in-law Elaine; his sons-in-law, Dave, John, James, and Brian; his grandchildren, Meaghan, Lindsey, Molly, Chelsea, Stacy, Allison, Keith, Michelle, Chris, Jessica, Brianne, and Kevin; and his great-grandchildren, Cameryn and Keaton. Bob is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, as well as many close and special family friends. Prior to services, a visitation will be held at the Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Sierra Heights Baptist Church, 6385 North Fresno Street on Thursday, January 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Clovis Cemetery on Villa. Remembrances may be made to the Sierra Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or a charity of your choice.
