All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Amelda Blanche Oliphant Watson Services: Mon., Feb. 24, 10 a.m. Amelda was born on February 23, 1921 and went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2003. Amelda was a Kern County resident for 33 years and an Arvin resident for 24 years. Amelda died three days prior to her 82nd birthday. She enjoyed the 3Bs Bingo, bowling, and bunco. She also loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and even though she could not attend church she enjoyed attending church via the television, especially Rev. Willie an avid OU football fan. Amelda is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ora Oliphant of Norman, Oklahoma; sisters, Verle Black and Eula Mae Harmon; brothers, Edmond Oliphant, and Buel Oliphant. Amelda is survived by daughters, Linda Johnson and her husband Terry of Bakersfield, CA, Debra Watson of Bakersfield, CA; son, Larry Watson and wife Linda of Sacramento, CA; sisters, Merle Holcomb of Bloomington, CA;, Francis Ashworth of Dell City, OK; three grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Optimal Hospice and Dr. Dougherty.
