Walker, born December 4, 1924, has passed peacefully at Marshal Hospital in Placerville, CA, May 1, 2006. He is preceded in rest by his parents, Frank and Wilma Walker; sister, Fran Black; and his sons, Mike R. and Robert (Bobby) D. Walker. He is survived by Maxine, his beautiful wife for 61 years; his lovely daughter, Wilma Victa of Pittsburg, CA. His grandchildren, Donna Walker, Mike T. Walker, Justin E. Victa of Alameda, CA, Shane B. Victa, his wife Rita of Manteca, CA, and Jasmine D. Victa of Las Vegas, NV; his great-grandchildren, Michael J. Senter of Alameda, Lyla Rose and Bransen J. Victa of Manteca, CA; among many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him. Billy grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. He joined the Navy at 17 years of age. After boot camp, he went to the Pacific and Aleutian Islands aboard the U.S.S. Dale, a destroyer. During his 22 years, he served in three wars, World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War, and landing troops in Lebanon in 1958. He earned 11 battle stars. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed at the Safeway Milk Plant as an engineer for 17 years. Bill and his family lived in Alameda for 28 years and moved to El Dorado County in 1989. He served as past master of Hirm Masonic Lodge in El Dorado. He is a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in El Dorado, member of Scottish Rite and Ben Ali Shrine, and the El Dorado Community Church. Billy loved the sports of fishing, baseball and football. He mostly enjoyed his home, family and friends. Billy will be truly missed here on earth and now he has taken the journey with Jesus Christ. "God bless you Billy." There will be a memorial service for Billy on May 13, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Placerville Masonic Hall, on Cold Springs Road. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner Children's Hospital or Snowline Hospice.
