All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Eugene Register Guard Lillian Wray A memorial service will be held May 15 for Lillian May Wray of Eugene, who died May 10 of age-related causes. She was 100. Wray was born Sept. 16, 1903, in Cherokee Indian Territory, Okla., to Allie and Amy Murphey Beymer. She married John Wray in Eugene on Sept. 21, 1922. He died Nov. 9, 1985. She lived in Oklahoma until 1908, when her family moved to Portland. She settled in Eugene in 1919. She worked as a bookkeeper and was employed with the Lane County Tax Collector's Office until her retirement. She was active in the Eugene community and was a founding member of the Eugene Church of Christ. She was also an early leader in the Lane County Parent Teacher Association and helped establish associations in several local schools. She enjoyed singing and was also a founding member of the Eugene Women's Choral Club. Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Lawson of Eugene; a brother, Alvin Beymer; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. A son, John Jr., died in World War II on March 19, 1945. Saturday's service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Eugene Church of Christ. Private entombment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park, Eugene. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
