There, she met her future husband, Roy and went on to raise a family of five boys. A resident of La Verne for 42 years, she had worked for Wright Brothers and Rice Furniture and Armstrong Galleries of Pomona. She died January 22 at the age of 95. Eleanora moved with her husband Roy to La Verne in 1965. Over the years, she was an active member of several churches in the area, including La Verne First Baptist, Faith Community of Ontario, and Pomona First Baptist. She was dedicated to the ministry of intercessory prayer which she devoted herself to on a daily basis for over 60 years. Besides the raising of her own family, she considered this her primary calling in life. There are many who knew her as a faithful "prayer warrior" and often sought her out for this ministry. She is survived by her sister Barbara, sons Kent, Tim, Dan, Larry, and Wayne, five lovely daughters-in-law that she loved as her own, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, at 12:30pm at Pomona First Baptist Church, 586 N. Main St., Pomona. Todd Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
