C. Smith, this second volume of Otah-Kah-Belah is dedicated, with a feeling that never have Hominy schools prospered more than under his five years supervision. In Mr. Smith we have a man who is deeply interested in human nature, one who has watched, with interest, student after student receive his diploma and enter life to succeed or fail; in him we have a man who believes in the individual rather than the crowd, in that the individual with the determination and ambition will succeed where the "crowd" blindly follows an indefinite trail; and last he is a man of sterling qualities who has the courage and strength of character to face the public and stand for what he believes is right.
