Bryant, a long time Oklahoma City resident died March 7, 2003 at Heartland Healthcare Nursing Home in Bedford, Texas. Born August 18, 1908 in Burbank, Oklahoma, she was the oldest Daughter of J.C. (James) and Mamie Edmiston. The family moved to Morrison, Oklahoma where she graduated from Morrison High School in 1926. She attended, Oklahoma City Business College and worked for the Oklahoma Agriculture Adjustment Administration in Perry, Oklahoma for 14 years, where she met and married Duke A. Bryant In 1963 Mr. Bryant retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Lt. Colonel with 20 years of Military Service. They built a home in Oklahoma City where she resided until June 2000 when she moved to Brighton Gardens Assisted Living facility in Oklahoma City. She moved to Bedford, Texas in September of 2000 and was a resident of Heartland Nursing Home until her death. They had no children. She worked as an Avon Representative from 1966 until December of 1999 and had achieved numerous awards for sales recognition. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs Marie Quants, Mrs Bessie Lane, Mrs Naomi (Swiger) Spiller and one brother, Mr. Woodrow Edmiston. She is survived by nieces Mrs Wanda Baumert and Mrs Francis Garrison of Ponca City and nephews, Mr. Le Roy Quants of Nardin, Oklahoma, Stephen Swiger of Phoenix, Arizona and Phillip Swiger of Bedford, Texas. It is requested in lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity in her behalf. Viewing will be Sunday 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will be greeting friends Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home with graveside services following at 2:00 pm in the IOOF Cemetery in Ponca City, OK. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
