John Philips Butcher

John Philips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Butcher, was born March 17, 1922, 
and died at the hospital in Hominy, December 17th, 1928, age six years, 
and nine months.

His sickness was of short duration.  He was attacked by pneumonia infection 
and nephrytis, both induced by acute tonsillitis from which he had suffered 
for nearly a week before he was taken to the hospital.

He was a loving child, obedient and happy, greeting his friends with a 
smile.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. 
Butcher, two brothers, Robert K. aged 18, now in the A and M college at 
Stillwater, Herold, age four at home, and one sister Mildred, age 16, in 
high school at Hominy.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church of 
Hominy by the pastor Rev. J. A. Nayle, and interment was made in the Hominy 
cemetery.  Music was rendered by a mixed quartet from the church and the 
school, and a solo was rendered by Mrs. C. K. Logan, "Little Pink Roses", 
a favorite song of John Philip.
