Butts Donal A. Butts entered into rest on Thurs., Oct. 25, 2001 in Grove. He was 82 years old. He was born on March 22, 1919 in Fairfax, to Robert L. Butts and Cora Ellen Triplett. Donal was raised in Hominy area, a 1937 graduate of Mound Valley High School. Then went to the Oklahoma School of Accountancy, Law and Finance in Tulsa, graduating in 1940. He married Betty Fortner March 8, 1941, then starting a family in the Tulsa area, where he lived until his wife died in 1986. He then moved to Grove and married Edna Fortner in 1987. He worked for Amoco Corporation for 37 years, until his retirement as Senior Accounting Clerk. He was a deacon of the Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs. Donal was a member of the Commanders Club ot the D.A.V. and a contributor to the Statute of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation and also a lifetime member of the Oklahoma University Dads Club, he was also a big, big O.U. football fan. Donal loved gardening and quail hunting. Donal leaves behind his wife Lorraine Edna (Fortner) Butts of the home; four daughters, Carolyn Sue Cameron and husband Bill of Gilbralter, Michigan; Donna Jo Anderson and husband Bill of High Bridge, New Jersey; Vera Ellen Gifford and husband Bob of Broken Arrow and Lola Faye Pollack and husband Dr. Robert of La Mesa, California; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Donal was preceded in death by both his parents; his first wife Betty Joe Fortner; three brothers, Elston, Roy and Norris (Jay), and two sisters Severy and Lola. Services for Donal A. Butts were 11:00 a.m. Mon., Oct. 29, 2001 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy with Dr. Jerry Hopkins officiating. Interment will be at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.
