Carnagey Longtime Pawhuska resident, Kenneth W. Carnagey, passed away Mon., Oct. 8, 2001, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville. He was 80 years old. Kenneth Walter Carnagey was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Hominy, the son of Chester and Lucinda (Walden) Carnagey. On January 25, 1942, he married Steveson in Hominy. He worked as produce manager at Bill's Supermarket in Bartlesville for 27 years before retiring. He also worked for the Safeway, now Homeland, grocery stores for many years. Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, member of the Choir and member of the Finance Committee. He was serving as a Deacon of the Church at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Lois Carnagey of the home; two sons, James Carnagey and wife, Ruth of Ft. Gibson; Bob Carnagey and wife, Kelly of Hominy; a daughter, Susan Woodward and husband, Woody of Tulsa; two brothers, Erman Carnagey and wife, Rudene of Greenville, TX and Richard Carnagey and wife Beppy of Whitesboro, TX; five granddaughters, Lisa, Lori, Amber, Kala and Mary Jo; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a son, Terry Michael Carnagey, in 1950, and five siblings: Merle, Helen, Chet, Ray and Audra. Services were Thurs., Oct. 11, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska. Dr. Larry Wallace officiated. Interment was at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Pawhuska.
