Gary was born Nov. 8, 1941 in Hominy, OK, to Richard Elias and Charlie Williams Clark. Gary was a member of the Boston Avenue Methodist Church, a 1959 graduate of Hominy High School; lettered 4 years in football and track, captain of the football team; president of his senior class; president of the student council and a 3 year member of the National Honor Society; graduate in 1963 of Austin College in Sherman, TX; had a bachelor degree in science; major in physical education and minor in social studies. While in college, he was a 4 year member of the football team and 2 years in track and field; captain of the football team; and president of Beta Chi Omega Fraternity. Gary was a teacher and football coach for 14 years and moved his family to Sapulpa in 1977 and bought and ran Clark Oil Distributors, Inc. From 1977 to 2001, now owned by his two sons, was a successful business man, pillar of the community, served on the Sapulpa School Board, member of the Sertoma Club; caring giving and loving father, grandfather, husband and person; well loved and thought of; loyal and caring friend. Gary Clark was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Ingrid Lillan Stone Clark; four brothers; and one sister. Survivors are his wife Suzanne Stewart Clark of the homes; sons Mark Randale Clark of Rochester, Minn., and Jack Jim Clark and wife Cindy Diane Lewis Clark of Tulsa; grand child Kayleigh Nichole Clark; brothers Homer Clark and Jim Clark, and sister Paula Clark-Hatchett. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sat. in the Boston Avenue Methodist Church with the honorable Dr. Mouzon Biggs officiating. The family has requested that friends make donations to Green Country Hospice.
