Craun from 4-8-2003 Examiner Enterprise Anna Muriel Yount Craun died peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2003 in her home at Nelagoney, the community where she had lived for most of her 92 years. She was born December 29, 1910 near Wooster Mound, Osage County, Oklahoma moving north of Nelagoney at an early age. Raised on a form and knowing hard work and hard times, she attended Nelagoney Public Schools, quitting in her junior year to help on the family dairy farm. She married Harold R. Craun in Pawhuska on December 23, 1930. They made their home in Nelagoney where they raised their three sons; Bob, Harold Jr. and Jimmie. She worked many years as a seamstress and supervisor at the tent factory and garment factory. She also was employed as lunchroom cook at Nelagoney School from 1946-1950. In her later years she worked as a senior companion and as a receptionist for the Osage County Health Department until reluctantly retiring a the age of 85 years. Anna was a charter member of the Nelagoney Baptist Church. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1967, her son Robert Earl in 2002, her parents, Ed and Lue Davis Yount; three sisters, Dona Hanna, Frances Gibson and Betty Mathis; two brothers, Floyd and Otto Yount. Anna is survived by two sons, Harold and wife, Melinda of Sapulpa, Jim and wife, Virginia Lee of Nelagoney and daughter-in-law, Virginia Craun of Pawhuska. Six grandchildren: Alan and Gerry Craun of Pawhuska, Lee Anna and Todd Ward of Oklahoma City; Jimmie and Patti Craun of Bartlesville; Dana and Terry Thorne of Tulsa and Lauren Craun and Jamie Craun of Sapulpa. Seven great-grandchildren; Matthew Craun, Hannah Huneryager, Courtney Craun, Nolan Craun, Olivia Craun, Jameson Thorne and Jentry Thorne. She is also survived by one sister and her husband, Letha and Sterling Brown of Hominy.
