The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ALAN HOUSTON BARKER OCNS - April 23, 2002 - Funeral services for Alan Houston Barker, 50, who died April 21, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook with M.E. Junior Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at the Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. Houston was born April 30, 1951 to Alan M. Barker and Lillie M. (McCann) Barker in Corpus Christi, Texas and was reared and educated in Taft, Texas, graduating from high school in 1969. He attended mortuary college in Houston, Texas and on July 9, 1971, in Eagleside, Texas, he married Carol Coon. In 1979 they moved to Pawhuska, Oklahoma where they made their home until the summer of 2000 when they moved to Skiatook. Alan was employed with Dowell in 1979 and, when they sold to Schlumberger, he continued his employment as an offshore supervisor until his death. Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; a daughter, Erin Waddle of Skiatook; grandchild, Tate Waddle of Skiatook; one sister, Mary Lynn Bode of Houston, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends. Casket escorts for the service will be Jimmy Hisey, Tommy Dyer, Grant Bode, Lyndell Webb, John Bode, Glenn Hamil, Joe K. Eschbach and Ray Gabrish. Music for the service will be "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Wind Beneath My Wings", sung by Mike McCartney. Services are under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
