RITES FOR ANNA SUMPTER ARE SCHEDULED HERE 1954Funeral services for 2:30 o'clock are scheduled at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Anna (annie) Pearl Sumpter, 79, a resident of Pawhuska since 1920. She died at the Hospital on Saturday night. Mrs. Sumpter, a member of the Assembly of God Church, was born on August 23,1875 in Kansas. She was the second wife of John Sumpter and was married to John Elias Sumpter in Oklahoma Territory, Okla City, Okla. on June 7, 1894 and the couple moved to Pawhuska in 1920. Mr. John Elias Sumpter preceded his wife in death in January of 1941. One son, Fred Sumpter, died at Bartlesville in May of this year in a house fire. Survivors include: Two sons: Elias E. "Polly" Sumpter of Konowa, Okla (step son)., and Louis Sumpter of Bartlesville, Okla.: three daughters: Mrs. Madaline Mason of Okla. City,Okla.(step daughter),Mrs. Earnestine Leadford of Pawhuska, Okla., and Mrs. James( BELLE) Gullett of Wynona. Two brothers: Moses Criss of Stockton, California and Ira Criss of Stockton, California. Sisters: Mrs. Grace Borzark of Oakley, Illinois. and Mrs Iva Eliotthorp of Lindsay: 35 granchild. Burial will be in Pawhuska city, cemetery at the side of her son, Fred Gullett, with the Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
