The funeral will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2002,a t the First Osage Baptist Church of Fairfax with The Reverend Robert Glasgow, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax. Bernice Marie Hawk was born April 4, 1912, in Benton County, Arkansas, the daughter of Alonzo and Mary Ann Smith Hawk. While Bernice was still an infant, the family moved to Schulter, Oklahoma, where she was reared and attended schools. June 16, 1930, Bernice was united in marriage to James Monk Rodgers and the couple made their home in Fairfax. Bernice served her family as a homemaker and was a past member of the American Business Women's Association, a member of the First Osage Baptist Church, enjoyed handwork such as knitting and crocheting, beadwork, making keepsakes for people, baking pies and being with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Balduff of the home in Fairfax, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, Monk, on March 27, 1987, her son, Tommy, four sisters and one brother. Casket Bearers will be Tom Rodgers, Jimmy Balduff, Mike Balduff, Rick Balduff, Larry Willard and Stephen Burton. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Mike Burton, Herman Rhoads, John Silvey and Dr. James I. Graham.
