Powell Memorial Cemetery--Hominy OK BEATRICE LOUISE VELA OCNS - Archives - Beatrice Louise Vela, 75, 200 East Third Street, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, died October 5, 1992, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral Mass was held October 7, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Joseph Mazaika officiating. Interment was in the Albert Joseph Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma. Born December 16, 1916, in Maramec, Oklahoma, the daughter of William M. and Cornelia (Stone) Minix, Mrs. Vela was a longtime Pawhuska area resident. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Klash-Kah-She Club and was a retired hair dresser. Survivors were: A son, Bill L. Cooper of Clearwater, Kansas; one brother, Douglas Minix of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; four sisters, Shirley Couffer and Maxine Gilkey, both of Hominy, and Virginia Fletcher and Barbara Baird both of Pawhuska; and two granddaughters, Tina L. Cooper Kastning of Pawhuska and Tracy L. Cooper Bickford of Clearwater, Kansas.
