Sumter--her name was Hester (SUMPTER) SUMTER---I believe she was the sister to John Elias Sumpter. I have not found any other name change in the family-except this one. So, it is two Sumpter/Sumter familys-different lines? According to his birth year, he died in 1974, so, it is a big guess-is any of his children living? JUDY SUMTER SERVICES SET-Apr.27 CHARLES C.
