The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CLIFFORD JAMES WHITED OCNS - July 17, 2002 - Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, in the Prue Cemetery for Clifford James Whited, 81, of Prue, Oklahoma, who died July 14, 2002 at the age of eighty-one-years, one month and twenty-three days. Mr. Whited was born May 20, 1921 in Hominy, Oklahoma, the son of Farris Sigmon Whited and Lillie Mae Whited. For many years he worked at C.E. Natco where he was known as a hard worker. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, reading and gardening. Clifford's wife, Lydia writes: "Clifford met Lydia Wolf in 1946 while he was harvesting wheat for her family. He would return for each wheat harvest to work and May 15, 1947 Clifford and Lydia were married at the Methodist Church in Beaver, Oklahoma. While on the way to the church, Clifford's automobile stalled out in the rain and he had to be rescued by Lydia's parents. He changed clothing in a service station before the wedding." Survivors in addition to his wife, Lydia of the home in Prue are: Daughters, Clarrisa Aguirre and Patricia Hert of Owasso, Oklahoma, Kathline Hanson of Pryor, Oklahoma; sons, James Whited of Beaumont, Texas and Richard Whited of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Darrin, Leslie, Tammy, Brian, Johnathon, Justin Renae, Jason, Tiffany and Chad; great grandchildren, Patrick, Britteny, Drake, Jacob, Haley, Chase, Andrew, Kayla and Johnathon; five brothers, Kenneth, Prentiss, Junior, Frank and Gerald; sisters, Fern Robinson and Jeanie Curtis; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Whited was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leon Whited. The Reverend Bill Lay and Eugene Goodman will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Whited, Brian Whited, Justin Whited, Darrin Sutterfield, Jonathan Johnson and Chad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tiffany Whited, Renae Nunley and Leslie Root. Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
