He Was born September 20, 1920 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma the son of Oscar and Gertrude (Grider) Martin and was married December 20, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma to Jean Aline Bailey who survives at the home in Wynona, Oklahoma. A member of The Baptist Church, Mr. Martin was a self-employed carpenter, mechanic and farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in The U S Army. Surviving in addition to his wife, Jean of the home are three sons; Jimmy Martin of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Richard Martin of Roundrock, Texas and Cleo Martin of Rockwell, Texas; a daughter, Janice Lankford of Roundrock, Texas; three sisters, Evelyn Rice of Irving, Texas, Bee Davis of Texas and Lorene Howard of Oklahoma City; a brother, Maxey Martin of Irving, Texas; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2000 in The Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pawhuska with burial at 3:30 p.m. in The Tishomingo Cemetery, Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Reverend John White will officiate under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Directors.
