A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the First Christian Church of Shidler with former pastor Manny Loveall presiding. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax, Oklahoma. Clarence Frank was born February 25, 1924, at Guthrie, Oklahoma, the son of Carl and Fern Frank. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart after serving on the front lines in World War II. He then resided in rural Shidler and Grainola, Oklahoma, area. Survivors include: One son, Duncan Frank of Guymon, Oklahoma; two daughters, Susan Nobles of Belton, Texas and Joy Fink of Oklahoma City; one sister, Vera Jean Sorenson of Dodge City, Kansas; three step-daughters, Marce Lester and Fran Sharp, both of Oklahoma City and Lavona Smith of Drumright, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Freida Hall. Honorary Casket Bearers were Bill Olson, Austin Vogel, Tom Trueblood, Alfred Hall, Johnny Means and Mickey Williams.
