The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CLARENCE ANTHONY HAMLIN OCNS - September 3, 2002 - Clarence Anthony Hamlin, 84, lifelong resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, August 31, in the Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Clarence was born December 15, 1917 in Nowata, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Reuben and Hazel Belle (Moudly) Hamlin. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 29, 1949, he married Imogene Endsley in Pawhuska. Clarence worked in the auto service industry his entire life and at one time, owned and operated Hamlin's Texaco Station in Pawhuska. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge, the Holy Name Society and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pawhuska. Survivors include: His wife, Imogene of Pawhuska; one son, Joseph Robert Hamlin of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Thomas of Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, Teresa Ann Wood of Edmond, Oklahoma and Joan Marie Hamlin of Pawhuska; one brother, Paul Francis Hamlin of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice Eugene Hamlin and Joseph Bernard Hamlin. Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Pawhuska. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Pawhuska, with Father Leonard Higgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a Memorial Mass to be said on behalf of Clarence. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
