Carol James (jim) Gullett, 80, died Oct. 13, 2001, at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City, Kansas. He was born July 17, 1921, at Pawhuska, Okla. Osage County, the son of James William Gullett and Belle Forrest Sumpter Gullett. His grandparents were: Joseph Crockett Gullett and Tennessee Rachael Taylor of Putnam co. Tenn and Pawhuska Okla. also: John Elias Sumpter and Annie Pearl CRISS of Carthage,Mo and Kansas. Carol James Gullett graduated from Pawhuska Indian School, Osage Co. Okla. He was a resident of Macksville, a measurement technician for Northern Natural Gas Co., and oil pumper for Sante Fe Pipe and Supply and a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to Macksville Christian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. John. He is survived by his wife and widow, Patsy Jean Landrum Gullett. Other survivors include: a son, James William Gullett of San Antonio,Texas; three daughters, Mary L. Klee of Shasta Lake, California, Sharon M. Torkleson of Beaubier, Saskatchewan, Canada and Jane L. McGinty of Derby, Kansas. Also, a brother: Loyd Gullett of Wynona, Okla.; a sister, Ellena Farris Gullett Grimes, widow of Mark Eugene Grimes of Borger, Tx. Hutchinson county. There are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann Gullett: a Brother Harold Vane Gullett and a sister, Delva Gullett Ogan who leaves a widower, Ted Ogan.( Note: to include: Ted also died on Nov.6, 2001 in St. Paul, Minn. in the home of his daughter, Delva Mae Ogan Barney.) Funeral Services for Carol James Gullett will be at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday 17th at Macksville christian Church, Macksville, Kansas. Rev. Carey Haner and Rev. Scott Moyer, presiding. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, Kansas. Funeral arrangements were taken care of by Minnis chapel, Macksville. Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the chapel. -------- note: Funeral services for the brother-in-law of Carol James Gullett, Theodore (TED) Ogan will be in Newton Kansas on the 9th of November 2001.
