On Jan. 1, 2002, he passed away. He was 25 years, 11 months, and six days old. Marques was raised with a big family surrounded by loved ones in Hominy. He was educated at Hominy Public Schools, the personification of Hominy Bucks. He started playing competitive little league when he was six which lead to long nights and lots of fun with friends and family throughout the rest of his life. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He received the All Around Sports Award his senior year. He made many leaps and bounds throughout his high school years, pitching the first strike on the new Bucks baseball field, and he was Hominy's first to make All State in baseball. He also made the Basketball Sun, Surf and Slam team getting to play basketball in Hawaii. He went on to further his education and play some more baseball at Connors State College, pitching two years for the Connors State Cowboys. He then went on to pitch for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in 1997, where he tied their record for season saves. Marques wants everyone to know he owes his success in sports to Coach Doyle Edwards, Daniel Owens and his Dad, Bobby Davis. On July 27, 1998, Marques married his long-time sweetheart Sunnie June Wilcox. On July 27, 1998, the light of his life entered into this world, Brooklyn Nicole Davis, giving Marques and Sunnie a new look on life. They moved to Hominy where they have since made their home. Marques spent much of his spare time helping promote youth sportsmanship and league play in Hominy. He has helped coach Little League baseball and pee-wee football, not to mention all the times he has played with these young children and youth off the regular field. Marques was also an active family man spending time with all his families and spreading his warm hearted good nature to everyone. There was not a time of the day or night when Marques was not wearing his famous smile, he could light up the room just by saying "Hello." He will be greatly missed by all who came to know him. In his spare time, he enjoyed all kinds of activities and was always on the go. He enjoyed playing golf, flag football, basketball, co-ed softball, baseball and pool, among a million other things. On Marques last eve he spent many hours with his family enjoying card playing at the Davis house and that is where we will miss him the most, when we sit down to the table his memory will go on forever in our hearts and in our everyday lives.
