All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== The Hominy News - Progress Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002 Vol. 34, No. 33 Page 5 Leslie Wayne Dilbeck Leslie Wayne Dilbeck, lifelong resident of the Fairfax area, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2002 at the Fairfax Hospital. He was 64 years of age. Leslie Wayne Dilbeck was born Aug. 29, 1937 at Fairfax, the son of Hershel A. Dilbeck and Opal (Faulk) Dilbeck. He attended the Grayhorse and Fairfax schools and was a 1955 graduate Ralston High School where he was active in basketball. He was married to LaVon Jones on June 15, 1964 at Winfield, KS. Mr. Dilbeck was employed at the Ralston Rock Crusher at an early age, later being employed with the pipeline, the American Supply Company and for the past 27 years was an independent pumper in the area. His enjoyments included hunting, fishing, storytelling, the outdoors and visiting with family and friends. Leslie is survived by his wife of 38 years, LaVon; three sisters, Dorothy Houser and husband Ed, Mabton, Washington, Deborah Gerard and husband Tom, Yakima, Washington and Sandy Price and husband Ron, Moxee, Washington; two brothers, Jackie Dilbeck and wife Sandi, Yakima, Washington and Rex Dilbeck and wife Michelle, Grandview, Washington; sister-in-law, Hazel Dilbeck, several other brother and sister-in-laws tht include Earl and Loraine Wilson, Woodrow and Dorothy Wilson, Irene and Clay Smith, Jimmy and Jeannie Wilson, Roy Wilson, L. D. Jones and Jim Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, Bonita Dilbeck, one brother (and best friend) Leon Dilbeck and one sister-in-law, Pearl Wilson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Mon. Aug. 12, 2002 at the First Osage Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Glasgow presiding. Interment was at the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Casketbearers were Roy Lee Wilson, Andy Dilbeck, Tommy Dilbeck, Tim Dilbeck, Dickie Johnson and Henry Johnson. Honorary casketbearer was Tip Asher.
