He was 63. Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church under the direction of Stanley's Funeral Service. Dunkin was born March 29, 1937. He attended Cascia Hall and graduated from Central High School in 1955. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a Sigma Nu, in 1959. He was president of Rafter D. Corp. from 1968 to 1998. The Osage County ranch was purchased in 1941 by his father, John Haskell Dunkin, an owner of the Brown-Dunkin department stores prior to his death in 1958. John R. Dunkin was operations manager of the ranch in partnership with his mother, Jane Randolph Dunkin, and his sister, Della Jane Pettit. Rafter D Corp. was liquidated after Jane Dunkin's death in 1998. Dunkin also owned and operated Dunkin Farms in Wagoner County. He was active in various organizations and was a leader in the agriculture field, in which he was awarded many conservation and stewardship honors. He was chairman of the Agriculture Awareness Subcommittee of Governor Frank Keating's Ag 2000 Task Force. He was one of eight lay members of the Governor's Animal Waste and Water Quality Protection Task Force. In 1992, the Soil Conservation Service recognized him as the Outstanding State Conservationist. He was the 1998 winner of the National Cattleman's Beef Association Environmental Stewardship Award. Dunkin was active with The Trust for Public Land and served as its Farm and Ranch Preservation Committee chairman. He was a district director of the Tulsa county Conservation District and a participant in Tulsa's 16th Annual resource Management Conference. He served on The Salvation Army's advisory board and was a supporter of the Tulsa Area United Way, Hillcrest Medical Foundation and 12 & 12 Inc. He is survived by his wife, Beth Dunkin; four daughters, Christy Rawlings, Cathy Dunkin, Carey Dunkin, all of Tulsa, and Courtney Bono of New Orleans; a sister, Della Jane Pettit of Stillwater; and two grandchildren. Friends are making contributions to the John R.
