Fryer, 57, who was seriously burned in an early morning fire at his home in the south part of the city on January 28, died as a result of his injuries at the county hospital Friday morning at 5:30, it was reported. After he was given many units of blood plasma and finally had his right leg amputated, the man became worse and died as a result of complications, it was understood. He was burned when his clothing caught fire as he started to kindle a fire in a cook stove at his home. The house caught fire from his flaming clothing and his wife was painfully, but not seriously burned in whipping the flames on his clothing. Most of the household goods at the home were destroyed or so badly damaged that they were no longer of service. Friday afternoon it was announced that funeral arrangements had been scheduled for services Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Johnson chapel. Fryer is survived by his widow and two children, Mildred and Melvin Fryer, both of whom live in Techachapi, California. The Rev. R. A. Work, pastor of the Assembly of God, will officiate at the funeral services.
