She entered into rest on July 29, 2001 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 96 years old. Dovie was a dedicated family person. She loved all her family. She grew up in Wynona, a long time member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her sister, Birdie Thomas; her brother, Charlie Reed; daughter, Lila Maroquin of Fort Worth, Texas; and one son, Jimmy Reed of Wynona; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, and both her parents. Services for Dovie were held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 21, 2001 with Reverend Charlie Thomas officiating. Services were under the direction of Powell Funeral Home.
