Frankie was born March 16, 1939 in Cleveland, Oklahoma the son of George Vernon and Iva (Ingle) Burgess. He attended the Fairfax, Oklahoma School System and served in the United States Army. Frankie was a member of The Pawhuska Elks Lodge and a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Osage County District One due to ill health. Survivors are a son, Lloyd "Sundance" and wife Eva Burgess of Long Grove, Oklahoma; a daughter, Kala Burgess of Pass Christian, Mississippi; five brothers, Bobby and wife, Jo Monica Burgess and Tommy and wife, Connie Burgess all of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Bud and wife, Georgiana Ricketts of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Blackie and wife, Liz Ricketts of Pawhuska; two sisters, Pearl Sanders and Beverly and husband, Kenneth Thurman of Skiatook, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Crystal Lea, Coltin Lee, Danica Lynn, Lloyd Franklin, Jr., and Christopher Gene Burgess and a host of other relatives and friends. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Iva Rickets; a half-sister, Betty Ruth Ricketts and a sister-in-law, Eva Rae Burgess. Services will be held Thursday, August 3, at 2:00 p.m., in The Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Hill officiating. Johnson Funeral Directors will be in charge of arrangements.
