The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GERTIE HELEN CHAMBERS OCNS - November 30, 2002 - Mrs. Gertie Helen Chambers, 100, retired cook, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the Barnsdall (Oklahoma) Nursing Home. Gertie was born August 8, 1902 at St. Mary's, Ohio, the daughter of Orville and Blanche (Stroud) Parker and came to Barnsdall as a child. She married O.K. Chambers in 1917 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Chambers had worked as a cook in several cafes in the area and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnsdall. Survivors include three sons: Paul Chambers, Wesley Chambers and Van Russel Chambers, all of Barnsdall; one daughter, Helen Louise Lowery of Dewey, Oklahoma; one sister, Sarah Jane Mosley of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many great great- grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnsdall with Father Leonard Higgins officiating. Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
