All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 33, No. 22 Wednesday, May 30, 2001 Page 5 Dorothy Mae Gilley Dorothy Mae Gilley, a resident of Cleveland, born August 30, 1919 in the state of Oklahoma to Christopher William and Eva Crider. She passed away May 9, 2001 in Cleveland at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 9 days. She was raised and received her education in the Boston Pool Area. On October 4, 1935 she was united in marriage to Harvey Basil Gilley in Hominy. Dorothy and Basil moved to California in the early 40's, then moved back to Cleveland and have made their home there since. She loved making quilts and carasouelhorses into lamps. She was also a glass collector, especially cobalt blue and red glass. Dorothy was a former member of the American Legion Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Lloyd and David Crider, three grandsons, Stephen Basil Hunt, Jackie Lee Marcum II, Eric Fernandez, and great-grandson Jeremy Hunt. She is survived by seven children, Loretta and Frank Patak, Perry; Jack and Pat Gilley, Cleveland; Juanita Short, Cleveland; Richard and Chris Gilley, Cleveland; Patricia and Jack Marcum, Harrah; Duane Gilley, Osage; Teresa Sissom, Cleveland; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Services were held May 11, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the woodland Cemetery Chapel with Margaret Wilson officiating.
