Dorothy Lee Barton Hamilton was born August 23, 1921, in Beggs, OK, to Ralph E. and Leora Barton. The family then settled in Foraker, OK. Dorothy Lee was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Felix Royal Barton, Pawhuska, OK, and Dee Jay Barton of Jerusalem, AR. Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her sister, Edna Mae Olsen, Pawhuska; three daughters, Kay Hamilton Grant, Santa Fe, NM, Lee Hamilton Barnhisel, Lawton, OK, and Janie 'AJ' Hamilton, Portland, OR; and a grandson, James Blackstone Lofton, Santa Fe, NM. Dorothy Lee was the devoted aunt of Nan Olsen Drummond, Pawhuska, Brad Barton, Kaw City, OK, Diane Olsen Shafer, Newkirk, OK, John Barton Olsen, Hardy, OK, Connie Barton of Owasso, OK, Tucker Barton, Morrilton, AR, Dorothy Barton Gratzer, Lake Jackson, TX, and Bowman Barton, Bee Bee, AR. Dorothy Lee was an involved member of her community through her business 'Dorothy's' and her membership in Eastern Star and P.E.O., Chapter CS. At the time of her death, she was serving on the Pawhuska Museum Board. Dorothy Lee was for many years the art agent for sculptor James Lee Hamilton, Jr. Dorothy Lee's memorial services were held April 14, 2003, at the Presbyterian Church in Pawhuska. A memorial fund has been established in her name at the Pawhuska Museum, 700 N. Lynn, Pawhuska, OK 74056.
