Mrs. Harper was born April 30, 1934, in Hominy. She attended the Hominy Public Schools. Mary married Ferrell Harper on September 1, 1951 in Hominy. They had traveled for twenty five years while Ferrell served in the U.S. Army. After retiring in 1977, they made their home in Wichita Falls, Tx. During the years of traveling Mary had worked as a waitress and a store clerk. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid reader. Mary was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include: her husband, Ferrell Harper, of the home; one daughter, Cheryl Yancey and husband Darrell of Oklahoma City; two sons, Tray and his wife, Brenda, of Bryan, Tx., and Randy of Wichita Falls, Tx; one brother, Clifford Talkington of Dewey; one sister, Mildred Garner of Casper, Wyo.; three grandchildren, Misty Harper and Chris Harper of Wichita Falls, Tx, and Rhealeen Yancey of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Lucas, Isaac and Madison all of Wichita Falls, Tx. Preceding Mary in death were her parents Alma Talkington and Harry Talkington of Hominy; two sisters Doris Epperson of Wynona, and Winnie Redleaf of Hominy; a niece, Cathy Redleaf and Terlton; one brother Otis Talkington of Hominy, which was MIA during WWII. Chapel services were under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey McMurry of City View Church officiating. Graveside services and interment was in the Dallas-Ft.
