All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 31, No. 16 Wednesday, April 25, 2001 Page 5 Guy Lavon Hinchey Guy Lavon Hinchey, a resident of Prue, was born Aug. 3, 1926 in rural Johnson County, Oklahoma. He was the first born child of Virgil Hinchey and Almeta Standifer Hinchey. He died Fri., April 20, 2001, at the age of seventy-four. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Edith of the home; daughter Linda Johnson and her husband Al of Prue; one son, John Hinchey and his wife Janie of Hominy; and daughter Beverly Childres of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Tonya Jones and her husband Mike of Mannford; Angela Burges and husband John of Sapulpa; Paula and Scott Childres of Shawnee; two stepgrandchildren, Carla Edwards and Terry Lemons of Hominy, and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Hinchey and wife Juanita of Tulsa and two sisters, Idella Conner and husband Don and Virginia Seymour all of Shamrock, TX and host of other nieces, nephew other relatives and friends. Guy was a World War II veteran who served in Japan. He retired from CE Natco in 1984 after thirty-one years of service. He was a charter member of the Prue Lions Club and remained a member until the club disbanded. He served eight years of the Prue City Council. He was one of the founding members of the Prue Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prue. He was a devoted husband and father and cherished by his family. He had many friends and will be truly missed. Memorial Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Prue at 3 p.m., Mon., April 23, 2001.
