All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 33, No. 26 Wednesday, June 27, 2001 Page 5 Juanita Aline Hunter Juanita Aline Hunter was born on September 29, 1918 to Mr. James Dunlap and Mrs. Zola Lambert Dunlap in Hominy. She entered into rest on June 25, 2001 in Tulsa. She was 82 years of age. Juanita married the late Arthur A. Hunter in 1934. She worked for the Job Corps of Omaha and Tulsa as the director of residential living in the early 60's and 70's. She was an active member of the American War Mothers and American Legion Auxillary. She held many key positions for the American War Mothers organization including Seargent of Arms at the National level for two years, National Hospitality Chairman of Memory Tree and Memorial Chairman, Oklahoma state War Mothers president for two years, Oklahoma State War Mothers Treasurer for eight years and Greyhorse War Mothers Treasurer for eight years. She was also a member of Klash-Kah-She Club. She was an active member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In her spare time she liked to do Osage Finger weaving and make Indian clothing and moccasins. She is survived by one son Luther and wife JoAnn Hunter of Edmond, one grandson Lou Hunter Jr. of the home; one granddaughter Andrea Hunter of Flagstaff, AZ; also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Arthur A. Hunter, one grandson Joseph E. Hunter, three sisters Christine parks, Ervima Nave and Zula Meyers; one brother James Dunlap. Services for Mrs. Hunter were under the direction of Powell Funeral home in Hominy. A Rosary will be held Wed,. June 27, 2001, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
