The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GERALD JACK LEDINGTON OCNS - March 25, 2000 - Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Jack Ledington, 72, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, who died Thursday, March 16, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, were held Monday, March 20, in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel, Bartlesville. The Reverend Ronald H. Eldridge of the First Christian Church in Pawhuska officiated and interment followed in the Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket escorts included Lorne Shepherd, Bill McClintock, Wayne Jackson, Wayne Middleton, Carl Morris, Marvin Thurman, and Ronald Afdahl. Mr. Ledington was born on January 24, 1928 to Harry Clarence and Clara Belle (Troutman) Ledington at Pawhuska, Oklahoma, where he grew up and received his education graduating from Pawhuska High School in 1945. He worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from March of 1946 until September of 1947. He attended Oklahoma A & M College (now Oklahoma State University) at Stillwater where he graduated in 1951 with a Business degree in Accounting and he later became a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Ledington began his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company and was an accounting supervisor in the Comptrollers and Chemical Departments until his retirement in 1985 after thirty-five years of service. He made his home in Pawhuska until moving to the Bartlesville area in 1968. He was a resident member with a life long continued association and support for the First Christian Church in Pawhuska and was a member of the Limestone Lion's Club, (Bartlesville) in which he had served the offices of secretary and president, and also served on state boards with the Lions. He was also a member of the Bartlesville Genealogy Society, and a forty-five year member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr Ledington had no immediate survivors. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harry R. Ledington, and one sister, Marguerite A. Ledington. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Oklahoma Lion's Service Foundation, 413 NW 10th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73107.
