GUILA A. JOHNSON OCNS - March 29, 2002 - Mrs. Guila Anna Mills Kerby Johnson passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2002, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at10:00 a.m. Saturday in the sanctuary of the Oak Park United Methodist Church with Reverend Dyton Owen presiding. Burial will be on the family plot of the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services and interment are under the direction of the Neekamp Funeral Home. Guila was born April 26, 1914 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Georgia Anne Clark and Grover Clayton Mills. She attended schools in Vanoss, Ada and Rosedale, Oklahoma. After her schooling, she began working as a telephone operator. She married William J. Kerby at El Reno, Oklahoma and in the 1940's they moved to Osage County where Mr. Kerby was active in ranching. Guila had a thirty-year career with various garment manufacturers in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Mr. Kerby preceded her in death December 31, 1968. Guila married Richard Hawkins Johnson, October 30, 1983, and they made their home in Pawhuska on the Hulett Ranch until his retirement in November, 1988, when they moved to Bartlesville. Guila was a member of the Oak Park United Methodist Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A memorial in Guila's name has been established for the Oak Park United Methodist Church and those who wish to contribute in her memory may do so in care of the church office, 601 N.W. Brentwood Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Survivors include her husband, Rich Johnson, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and Jim Clingenpeel of Bartlesville; a grandson, Alan Clingenpeel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Will of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Guthrie and Lindsay Clingenpeel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Wanda Muchow of Shasta, California; and three sisters-in-law, Linda Mills of Spanaway, Washington, Merlene Mills of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Jean Mills of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Guila was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Muriel, Harold (killed in Germany in World War II), George, Hubert and Joe.
