She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Buck, parents, Cora Bible Jordan and James Jordan and one brother, Kenneth Jordan. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jordan and Lelia Buck of Sedan, Kansas; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, P.J. and Shelly Buck, Addison, Sarah and Paul of Sedan, Kansas; John and Kay Hill, Jordan and John Tyler of Sedan, Kansas; Andy and Tina Buck, Ellen and Nathan of Altamont, Kansas and numerous relatives and friends. Gladys attended school in Ramona and was very proud to have never missed a day of school in twelve years. On June 15, 1932, she married Paul Buck in Claremore, Oklahoma, and they resided in Pawhuska for their lifetime. Gladys was active in many organizations - Oklahoma Cowbells, Home Extension, Oklahoma Livestock Association and served on the Osage County Election Board. Gladys was known as a real "cowboy". She rode horseback, worked and cared for her cattle, anything a man could do, she could do (she even got her hair cut at the barber shop). After she had helped with all the ranch work, she would fix all the hands one of the best meals in Oklahoma. You rarely saw Gladys without her cowboy hat, even when she wore a dress (which wasn't very often). Gladys was an avid gardener and egg lady, always delivering produce and eggs to friends and family. She was known for playing a good hand of pitch and waiting patiently to pick Paul up from the Smokehouse. "Mom's" love was her family, friends, ranching, riding old Mac and her dogs, but it is finally time for her to rest and we will now take care of the cows and "the place" as she watches with Paul from above. You will be missed. Services for Gladys will be Tuesday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m., in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Pawhuska. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., in the Ramona Cemetery, Ramona, Oklahoma. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
