The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GEORGE WASHINGTON GRAHAM, Jr. OCNS - July 10, 2002 - Mr. George Washington Graham, Jr., 77, died at 1:44 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2002 at his family residence in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, at the graveside in the family plot at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Reverend Ralph O. Dershem officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be directed by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home. A native of Butler County, Kansas, Mr. Graham was born December 22, 1924 at Augusta, Kansas, the son of the late George Washington and Mamie (O'Keefe) Graham. He began his elementary education in the Oklahoma City schools and completed his education in the Barnsdall schools. he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.) camp until he enlisted in the United States Navy Sea Bees. Following his discharge from the service Mr. Graham returned to Oklahoma City where he was employed by the Stewart Sheet Metal Company. In 1984 he moved to Tulsa and was employed by the Society of Exploration and Geophysicists (SEG) until his retirement in 1999. He had made his home in Jenks, Oklahoma until four years ago when he moved to Barnsdall to live in retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors are: his son, Dennis L. Graham and his wife, Ginger of Tulsa; two granddaughters, Angela Graham and Tiffany Graham; a brother, Melvin Lee Graham and his wife, Lois (Wilkerson) Graham of Tulsa; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Watson and her husband, Glendon of Oklahoma City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Graham was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie O. Graham and Vernon H. Graham.
