The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOWARD WILLIAM JACKSON OCNS - September 10, 2002 - Howard William Jackson, 87, longtime resident of the Grainola, Oklahoma community, passed away Saturday morning, September 7, 2002, at the Fairfax (Oklahoma) Nursing Home. Howard Jackson was born June 27, 1915 at Olive, Missouri, the son of William Wesley Jackson and Loma May (Bingaman) Jackson. He received his early education in Missouri and later Grainola schools. He was married to Ruby Elene Hyder on March 3, 1945 at Kansas City, Missouri, where the couple established their first home prior to moving to Grainola in 1946. Mr. Jackson had served in the Oklahoma National Guard in the early 1940's, was a member of the Grainola Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; one daughter, Letitia Jackson of Baldwin City, Kansas; one grandson, C.R. Head of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mary Pearl Yelton of Borger, Texas; one brother, Delmer Jackson of Ardmore, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde, Loren Orville, Lester and Needham Jackson and three sisters, Nelli Gammon, Annie Stevens and Eva Kelly. Graveside services were held Tuesday morning in the Foraker, Oklahoma cemetery with Reverend Ruth Tipps presiding.
