The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JACK ALLEN TERRILL OCNS - June 9, 2002 - Mr. Jack Allen Terrill, 69, native of Barnsdall, Oklahoma and long time resident of Springer, New Mexico, died at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2002 in the Miners Colfax Medical Center, Raton, New Mexico. Graveside rites will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2002 in the Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall with Reverend Joe Reeves officiating. Funeral services for Mr. Terrill were held in Springer, New Mexico on Saturday, June 8, after which he was removed to Barnsdall where committal prayers and interment will be directed by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home. Mr. Terrill will lie in state in the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home on Monday where friends may call for their visitation until he is removed to the graveside Tuesday morning for final rites. A native of Osage County, Oklahoma, Jack was born April 12, 1933 at Barnsdall, the son of Clifford Ralph and Mary Mavis (Clem) Terrill. He was reared and received his education in the Barnsdall community and was graduated with the Senior Class of 1951 from the Barnsdall High School. He continued his education at North Eastern State College at Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was graduated with a B.S. Degree in business Education in 1956. He moved to New Mexico and taught business classes in a public school for one year. He and Edna Ann Froese were united in marriage at Tucumcari, New Mexico on March 9, 1959. The couple made their first home at Nara Vasi, New Mexico and Jack continued his teaching position. They had residences in various communities of New Mexico during his career. He was retired from teaching in May of 1988. Mr. Terrill was also an ordained Southern Baptist Minister and was active in this position for twenty-five years, serving as pastor in several New Mexico churches. Mr. and Mrs. Terrill traveled extensively during their retirement years and continued their home in Springer. Mr. Terrill was a member of the First Baptist Church, Springer, New Mexico where he had served as a pastor, supply minister and as a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Ann (Froese) Terrill, of the Springer home; his son, Mark Allen Terrill and wife, Dina of Yuma, Arizona; his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Troncoso and her husband, Patrick of Gallup, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Israel, Daniel, Abagail and Bethel Joy Terrill, all of Yuma, and Dyanna, Sarah and Dillon Troncoso, all of Gallup; his sister, Mrs. Joyce Hurt and her husband, Joe of Barnsdall, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Kyle Troncoso and a brother, Edward Lee Terrill.
