DAVIS OCNS - December 14, 2001 - Jesse J. Davis, 96, longtime former resident of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2001, at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis was born April 20, 1905, in Indian Territory, now Nowata County, Oklahoma, to James and Emma (Stevens) Davis. He was retired from the DX Oil Company. Survivors include: Two sisters, Esther Davis King and Goldie Davis Johnson both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister-in law, Julia Davis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a nephew, Roy Bridewell of Edmond, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Marie Davis Copenhaver, Laura Davis Duncan and Allie Davis Roberts; and a brother, Ray Davis. Services will be Monday, December 17, at 2:00 p.m., in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pawhuska, with Pastor Creth Hopkins of the Osage Indian Baptist Church, Pawhuska, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
