Interment: Resthaven Cemetery in Sperry, Osage Co.,Okla.

Parents: Walter and Jennie Gilpen
Married: Audie Taylor, December 4, 1940
Survivors: His wife Audie of the home; 2 daughters
Pat J. Phillips and Sharon G. Goswick
1 son:  Paul C. Gilpin; 1 sister: Retha Finch
1 grand-daughter: Shellie Phillips 
And many  other friends and relatives
Military honors were rendered by American
Legion Post 1, Tulsa,Okla.
John was a veteran of WWII, serving with honor
in the U.S. Navy as an armed guard.
John retired from Consolidated Freightways after 
working 32 years as a teamster.
As a young man he served in the Civilian Conservation
Corps. (ccc) and later worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
A Member of American Legion Post # 131 
A volunteer  fire fighter for Sperry Fire Department.
