The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JOHNNY MAC CORK OCNS - November 21, 2001 - Longtime Pawhuska, Oklahoma, resident Johnny Mac Cork, 69, passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 14, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Johnny Mac Cork was born November 18, 1931, in Goodlet, Texas, the son of Malcom Felix and Elvie (Dail) Cork and on April 6, 1957, in Miami, Oklahoma, married Mary Louise Whitaker who preceded him in death on February 2, 1991. Johnny was a fireman for the City of Pawhuska for many years and also had his own paint contracting business. He was an avid hunter and staunch supporter of the Pawhuska Huskies. For many years, Johnny could be found on the sidelines of every Pawhuska HIgh School football game, firing the infamous black and orange shotgun "Blunderbuss", into the air after each Huskie touchdown. Survivors include: his daughter, Crystal Cork of Stillwater, Oklahoma; five brothers; Jack Cork, Russell Cork and Bobby Cork, all of Sherman, Texas; Willie Cork of Phoenix, Arizona; and Jerry Cork of Florida; two sisters; Ann Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Linda Franklin of Pennsylvania; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his wife, Johnny was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Jackson. Services were held November 17, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Pawhuska City Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
