Jeter Surnames: JETER, DERSHEM, FARSON, CONNER, SKINNER, WEHMEYER, KHAN, FREEMNA from 3-18-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mrs. Clara Irene (Farson) Jeter, 83, widow of the late Killis Walton Jeter, Jr., died at 6:25 p.m. on Sunday in the Geriatrics Section of the Jane Phillips Memorial Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Jeter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Memory Chapel of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence. The Rev. Ralph O. Dershem will be the officiant. The Bartlesville Chapter #142 Order of the Eastern Star will accord her final rites. The funeral cortege will drive overland to the Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall, Okla. where committal prayers and interment will be directed by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Mrs. Jeter will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends may call for their visitation until the service hour on Thursday afternoon. A native of East St. Louis, Illinois, Clara Irene Farson was born on July 10, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Harry H. Farson and Una Jane (Conner) Farson. During her youth, she moved with her family members to Missouri where they made their home until moving to Barnsdall where she continued her education and was graduated with the Senior Class of 1937from the Barnsdall High School. She and Killis Walton Jeter, Jr. were married on August 7, 1937 in Barnsdall and they made their first home there. The Jeter family moved to Pampa, Texas until moving to Bartlesville in 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Jeter also had residences in Shidler, Okla.; Lyons, Kansas and in 1987 returned to Bartlesville to live in retirement. Mr. Jeter preceded her in death in Bartlesville on October 15, 2000 and since that time, Mrs. Jeter hascontinued living in Bartlesville in retirement. Mrs. Jeter was a member of the Lyons, Kansas First Baptist Church; Bartlesville Chapter #142 Order of the Eastern Star; the Order of the Amaranth Bartlesville Court #26 as well as the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem Bethel Shrine #3. Survivors are three daughters, Ms. Judy P. Skinner and Mrs. John (Sharon I.) Wehmeyer, both of Bartlesville and Mrs. Sal (Juana Maye) Khan, McPherson, Ks.; one son, Killis Walton Jeter, III and his wife Eugenia, Fayetteville, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; one brother, Gene Farson, Springfield, Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Freeman, Mansfield, Mo.
