Marilyn was born on January 1, 1932 in Shidler, Oklahoma. She grew up in Denver City, Texas. Marilyn graduated from Denver City High School in 1948 and then received her cosmetology license from Arlene's Beauty School in Lubbock , TX in 1950. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, E. Fred Lamb, San Angelo; her son, Fredrick Floyd, Bakersfield, CA; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Taxdahl, San Angelo; sister and brother-in-law, Dayne and JB Swinney, Lake Ivie, TX; sister-in-law, Myra Johnson, Abilene, TX; sister- in-law, Betty Strawn, Midland, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Icel and Charley Ambrose; mother and father-in-law, Muriel and Elmer (Pop) Lamb; her brother, Charles Ambrose and her niece, Robbi Connally. Marilyn has always been our "feisty Texas chick". Though she has been seriously ill for the last three years, she never lost her positive attitude. She will always be our role model. During her children's younger years, she was actively involved in the Corpus Christi PTA, her son's Cub Scout group and kept busy sewing beautiful clothes for her daughter and also her daughter's "baby dolls". Marilyn and Fred were transferred to Bakersfield, CA in 1967 with Atlantic Richfield, where Fred worked as a petroleum engineer until his retirement in 198. Marilyn and Fred remained there until "returning to their roots" in December of 2005. While in California, they developed a love for ocean fishing for salmon in Crescent City, CA. They made many wonderful friends during these trips and also traveled back to Texas on many occasions. Marilyn's life was prolonged and enhanced by her return to west Texas. We have cherished every day she has been able to be with us. The family wishes to thank the numerous medical folks who were instrumental in Marilyn's care. We cannot say enough good things about them. We will always love you Mom and you will be forever in our hearts until we meet again. Services will be held Wednesday, June 6th, at 1:00 p.m., at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo , TX . Interment to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
