Powell Memorial Cemetery--Hominy OK The Hominy News - Progress Vol. 30, No. 12 Wednesday, March 21, 2001 Page 5 Josephine Juanita Linville Josephine Juanita Linville walked into the presence of her Lord on March 14, 2001 at the age of 84. Josephine "Josie" was a long time resident of Hominy, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Powell Memorial Cemetery. She was born in Paden, Oklahoma on October 29, 1916 to William Wilkerson Copeland and Edith Fannie (Payne) Copeland. She married Enoch Linville on July 14, 1940 in Hominy, Oklahoma. Her independent nature and smiling face were an ever present part of her neighborhood. Josie's loving heart graced the lives of all who knew her. She was a service worker for most of her life. In her later years she worked for the Hominy Nursing Home and took great pride in caring for others. Her home was a sanctuary for many family members who required her nursing and healing touch. Her quick wit and love for mischief will always be remembered. The vision of "Miss Josie" pulling her little red wagon to town for groceries, the vision of her cuddling a child on her lap, and the sound of her laughter with friends is this world's happy inheritance and heaven's new gift. Although Josie never had children, she proudly called each neighborhood child her own. They all felt the same about her and the testimony, in pictures, lives on her living room walls. Josie made her family larger than blood alone. She was the matriarch of the neighborhood. The pied piper leading them to wish, laugh and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch; her sisters and brothers: Andrew, Elizabeth, Chester Floyd, Flossie, Roy, Ivadel, and William Newton. She is survived by her nephew Clifford Pattison; great nieces, jean Howe and Lorna Pattison, great-great niece Lydia Howe, step-son Loyd Linville, and many, many friends. Josie, climb up in your Father's lap; you won the victory. Services were under the direction of Powell Funeral Home. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Osage County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/osage/osage.htm
