Mr. Coleman passed away Monday, December 9, 2002, in the Barnsdall Nursing Home where he had been a resident since November 26. Prior to his move to Barnsdall, Mr. Coleman had resided for several months, in Fairfax, Oklahoma with his son, Jack Coleman. James Clayton Coleman was born March 16, 1912 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the son of Oscar Clayton and Emily Susan (Smith) Coleman and graduated from Pawhuska High School with the Class of 1932. James and Viola May Tweedy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma were married June 15, 1931 in Pawhuska. Survivors are: his wife, Viola May Coleman of the Barnsdall Nursing Home; his son, Jack Clinton Coleman of Fairfax; his daughter, Mary Cook, of Fairfax; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and six great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Coleman and Floyd Coleman; three sons, James Clayton Coleman, Jr., Ronald Carl Coleman and Raymond S. Coleman and one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Morris. Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska is in charge of arrangements.
