Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax with Father Bruce Brosnahan presiding. Interment will be at the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. James Fredrick Diehl was born August 19, 1921 at Cherry hill, Arkansas, the son of Joseph Herbert Diehl and Cecelia Pauline (Steiver) Diehl. His early education was received in the Mena, Arkansas schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving from July 28, 1942 to October 9, 1945. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Mena and the American Legion. His enjoyments included fishing and gardening. Survivors include: Four daughters, Susan Willoughby of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mary Diehl of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Sharon Lorenz of Isabella, Oklahoma and Robin Caughlin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mildred Christian and Lena Stuckey, both of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Ben Diehl, Paul Diehl, Lawrence Diehl, Leo Diehl and Mark Diehl and two sisters, Edna and Ann.
