The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JAMES LEONARD TRAMMEL OCNS - July 11, 2000 - James Leonard Trammel, 80, longtime resident of Osage County, Oklahoma, passed away July 7, 2000 in The Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, following a brief illness. Mr. Trammel was born February 7, 1920 near Peggs, Oklahoma, the son of James Leonard and Iva (Pannel) Trammel and moved with his family in 1928 to The Osage Hills State Park and Okesa, Oklahoma area where they have remained. Leonard was a retired farmer and oil field worker. Mr. Trammel married Louise C. Warner October 15, 1941 in Bartlesville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in The U.S. Army. He received two Purple Hearts and other citations. Survivors in addition to his wife, Louise of the home are four sons, Edward H. Trammel and Charles Trammel both of Okesa and James Trammel and Garry Trammel both of Bartlesville; a brother, Jessie Trammel of Bartlesville; a sister, Ethel Pearson of Okesa; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Christian Trammel, his parents, three sisters and six brothers. Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 11, in The Pawhuska Cemetery with The Reverend Tim Prater officiating. Military Rites were presented by The American Legion Post and The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Johnson Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
