Jerry served in the U. S. army for six years. During his tour of duty, he was stationed in Korea and Greenland. He moved to Blackwood Circle in Hominy in 1995, where he lived until February 2001. He is survived by one son, Bob Kocks of Alvin, Texas; one grandson, James Kocks of Alvin, Texas; three sisters, Nancy and husband Charlie O'Leary of Hominy; Rose Mary and husband Earl Barnett of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and Shirley and husband Gene Barati of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one brother, Dan Kocks of Derby, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and June Houston Kocks, and one brother, Charles Kocks. Memorial services for Mr. Kocks were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hominy on Saturday, March 31, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Services were under the direction of Powell Funeral Home.
